Meat and dairy foods are the more common source of vitamin b12 while the injection method is a sure fire way of getting the dose that you need.

Vegetarians and vegans are at risk of low vitamin counts because they do not eat meats. Vitamin B12 Shots Side Effects

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Vitamin B12 shots are given to alleviate the symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency, such as anemia, fatigue, and compromised immune system. Generally, they make people feel better, but they can also have some unpleasant side effects.

Most of the side effects are minor. By far the most common side effect is discomfort at the injection site. This can usually be relieved by applying ice packs or by taking an over-the-counter pain medication such as Tylenol.

Other common, but generally mild, symptoms include diarrhea and/or nausea, headaches, and joint pain. If these symptoms don’t fade with time, or if they become bothersome, tell your doctor.

The very few people who have serious allergies to vitamin B12 injections experience much more pronounced side effects. While uncommon, if they occur, they require immediate medical attention.

Cardiac side effects can include the sensation that your heart is pounding or beating too fast, palpitations, chest pain, and tightness in the chest. Some people also experience respiratory symptoms such as wheezing, uncontrollable coughing or trouble breathing.

Other symptoms that are cause for immediate concern include muscle pain and cramping, especially in the legs; swelling of the hands and feet; confusion or dizziness; and hives, itching, rashes, or red patches on the face or body.

Again, these serious side effects are very rare. Most people who receive vitamin B12 injections benefit from them and experience few or no side effects. Nevertheless, just in case you happen to be one of those unfortunate individuals with an allergy, it’s a good idea to know what warning signs to watch for.

Vitamin B12 Shots for Weight Loss

First, the bad news. The Mayo Clinic looked at all the studies that had been published and found no evidence that vitamin B12 shots cause weight loss. Ironically, a side effect that people occasionally experience from B12 injections is swelling and weight gain.

Still, we’ve all heard of celebrities, co-workers and friends who swear by B12 shots as a weight-loss supplement. Why does it seem to work for some people? There are several reasons.

First, vitamin B12 shots speed up the metabolism. This in itself can promote weight loss, especially if your metabolism has been sluggish due to dietary deficiencies.

Second, a few people who take vitamin B12 shots experience the side effects of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Since most people don’t eat much when they’re feeling sick to their stomachs, they may lose weight. Needless to say, that’s not the healthiest way to do it.

Vitamin B12 deficiencies can cause vegetative depressive symptoms in some people. This means they eat more and move less. When the deficiency is corrected, their eating goes back to normal and they return to their daily routines. Some weight loss is a natural result.

It has also been hypothesized that B12 shots provide key nutrients so that dieters are less vulnerable to cravings. Another hypothesis is that the people who tend to become B12 deficient, like vegans and vegetarians, are already following a healthy diet. They would probably lose weight with or without the shots.

Finally, there’s the “placebo effect” to consider. The placebo effect kicks in when a patient believes a certain treatment will help him or her, even if that treatment has no medicinal value at all. At $65 or more a shot, B12 makes an expensive placebo, but if it works for you, go for it. The results are what matter.

Vitamin b12 supplements through injection shots

Cobalamin is the technical name for the vitamin b12 which can be found in food groups like meats such as liver and chickens, eggs, fish plus milk and other dairy products. The biggest clue to finding sources of vitamin b12 is through animals or meat however this poses a problem for the person who does not like to eat meat or meat products. A piece of liver holds more vitamin b12 than any other source of foods including chicken which has only a minute fraction of the quantity of b12 in it. There are also many supplements available from drug stores, pharmacies and online which will help you get your recommended daily intake of the vitamin. Making sure that you replenish the vitamin b12 each day is very important because the vitamin is water soluble. This means that it is flushed out of your system each time you go to the toilet so you must replace it through foods or supplements.

The b12 vitamin is one of the most complicated vitamin structures that the body ingests for use in everyday movement and neurological activity. The compound is used by the body in processes that require b12 for movement or nerve signals which tell the muscles what to do and when. If the signals are interrupted then the muscles will not react properly causing the body to slow down and even jerk from unresponsive nerve reactions. Vitamin b12 deficiencies are not very common but can be the cause of major interruption to the workings of the body. Fatigue, depression and limited memory are all common features of a reduced vitamin b12 level in your body as well as many other non specific related symptoms. Choosing the right supplements for b12 should be very easy but keep in mind that not all of the expensive products are the very best for you and that the generic tablets and pills are just as effective. Some vitamin pills have too much vitamin in them considering the amount a person should consume each day however many of these vitamin tablets over compensate for the fact that most of the vitamin will not be absorbed by you and will be passed out of your system very quickly.

By getting your daily vitamin supplements through your foods and general diet you will see that supplementing may not be an option for you because your body is functioning at the top of the grade. However it does not take much to throw out your balance of good vitamins so that soon a feeling of illness or fatigue takes over. A lack of vitamins and minerals can lead to many different problems for the body depending on what the certain vitamin you are lacking in. If you are lacking in one of the water soluble vitamins which is the most regular vitamin shortage you can easily be feeling sick from germs not getting fought by your immune system as well as infections getting through this as well. The best part of the water soluble vitamins is that they are easily replaced through various means like tablets, powders and injections.

Vitamin b12 is partly responsible for the release of the macro nutrient protein which is one form of energy that people use if they are lacking in carbohydrates the main form of energy release. Without the presents of the vitamin b12 nutrient the breakdown of these macro nutrients will suffer and cause a substantial lack of energy for the person who is under supplemented. Quick fixes to this problem are by getting the vitamin b12 shots which are a form of vitamin b12 injection. The instant vitamin flow will help to release energy instantly unlike having to wait for vitamin supplements like pills and tablets to take control. Once the vitamins have taken effect the person will find an instant relief to any fatigue they were feeling before the injection. Their immune system will function better and they will be more likely to stay healthy for longer periods of time.

How to know if you need a series of vitamin b12 shots

[Facebook] [Twitter]

After the small amount of pain that I had to endure in the arm from my vitamin b12 shot I could not complain because it had me feeling on top of the world. Like a rush of adrenaline I was able to start thinking clearly again from having had such a very big weekend. It was a really great buck’s night but the amount of drinking that we did will make us suffer for the rest of our lives. Not only where we in trouble for some shifty shenanigans but we were all really hung over on the morning of the wedding. We all lined up for our vitamin b12 shots which the doctor assured us would have us ready by the wedding.

We guys were all dehydrated, feeling sick and lethargic. We needed to replenish the vitamins that we had passed out of our systems quickly so that our bodies would go back to feeling some kind of normal. Apart from wanting to crawl under a big rock we also had to prepare for the big day and this took concentration and effort which none of us had left. How we managed to drive home the next morning is something completely different but getting to the doctors on time was a miracle.

The shots had given us a boost in energy as well as the right mind to think clearly. Our nervous system was functioning effectively again even if it was not as efficient as it was a few days ago. After a few hours of moaning we started to feel much better, enough to be able to eat something so that we were not all starving. The b12 shots had worked wonders for the man of the hour and his grooms’ crew which is all that we wanted it to do.
